Tottenham: "Sensational" Star "Likelier" To Join Spurs

Leicester City star James Maddison is “likelier” to join Tottenham Hotspur than Premier League rivals this summer, according to journalist Miguel Delaney of The Independent.

Who will Tottenham sign?

Ange Postecoglou’s arrival from treble-winning Celtic marks the dawn of a new era and attacking football’s return to N17, coming after the more pragmatic eras of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte before him.

The domestic transfer window is officially open for business and it is now the task of chairman Daniel Levy to scour the market for much-needed Spurs upgrades.

A major rebuild is on the cards at Tottenham, with Hugo Lloris, Ivan Perisic, Davinson Sanchez, Ryan Sessegnon, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks facing uncertain futures (The Telegraph).

There have been suggestions that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could be facing the axe as well, meanwhile major doubts surround 2022 summer signing Richarlison.

Of the players who could come in, Postecoglou apparently wants a new centre-back, a goalkeeper to replace Hugo Lloris, forward additions and Leicester star Maddison.

Going back to the latter player, reliable reporter Delaney of The Independent has shared an update, with Spurs battling Newcastle for the 26-year-old’s signing.

However, despite Eddie Howe enjoying the luxury of Champions League qualification for next season, Maddison is actually “likelier to go to Spurs”.

It is stressed in his report, though, that neither side are that close to agreeing a fee for the midfielder – with Enzo Maresca’s side demanding almost double £45 million.

How many goals has James Maddison scored for Leicester?

Maddison, during his time at the King Power, has racked up an impressive 55 goals and 41 assists in all competitions.

Last season, the former Norwich City star totalled 10 goals and nine assists in the league alone – standing out as Leicester’s best-performing player by average match rating (WhoScored).

Journalist Rob Blanchette also hailed Maddison for his “sensational” form last year he got the England nod over Man United winger Jadon Sancho.

“James Maddison is an easy pick ahead of Sancho,” said Blanchette on Twitter.

“His form for Leicester has been sensational, while Jadon has declined.”

Ange Postecoglou Urging Tottenham To Sign £90m "Beast"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is urging chairman Daniel Levy to make a move for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, according to a report.

Is Joao Palhinha leaving Fulham this summer?

Back in June, Palhinha appeared to indicate that a move is off the table this summer, stating that he is "very happy" at Fulham and wants to stay, however, that has not stopped a number of top clubs from making their interest clear.

The Daily Mail report that the Cottagers would be willing to let the Portugal international leave during this window, but only if their £90m asking price is paid in full, amid interest from Barcelona, who have identified him as a target to replace Sergio Busquets.

In recent weeks, the likes of West Ham United and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, and Postecoglou is now eager for Spurs to make their first move, in light of the growing interest from elsewhere.

According to a report from The Sun (via TEAMtalk), the Tottenham boss is urging Levy to make a concrete move for the Fulham star, however, any deal is likely to set Tottenham back a new club-record fee.

Despite paying just £20m for the midfielder a year ago, Fulham now value him at £90m, and Spurs are mulling over a deal which is well in excess of their club-record of the £60m paid for Richarlison.

Postecoglou hopes to convince Levy to launch a bid, and the Lilywhites could look to finance the deal by selling the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

Is Palhinha signing for Tottenham?

Tottenham are yet to make any firm moves for the Portuguese maestro, so a deal is still some way off, but he could be an excellent addition to Postecoglou's squad, should the interest become more concrete.

The former Sporting CP man made a whopping 147 tackles in the Premier League last season, 47 more than any other player in the top flight, showcasing his phenomenal defensive ability, and he also ranks in the 92nd percentile for aerials won per 90 in the past year.

Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes in action with Fulham'sJoaoPalhinha.

Hailed as a "beast" by members of the media, there is every indication the central midfielder is entering his prime with a career-high Transfermarkt valuation, however, there are still question marks about whether he should be targeted by Spurs.

Palhinha turns 28 later this month, so it may not be financially prudent to spend £90m on a player who is approaching the latter stages of his career, especially considering he has only proven himself in the Premier League over the course of one season.

Boost For Sheikh Jassim: Man United Kylian Mbappe Transfer Update

Potential new Manchester United owner Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has been handed a transfer boost as he looks to sign Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

What’s the latest Man United news involving Jassim and Mbappe?

Jassim has been interested in taking control from the Glazers for months now and has placed five Old Trafford offers, with the last being a take-it-or-leave-it bid. Should the Qatar group prove successful, Jassim would clear all of United’s debt and have a separate fund for the club and local community.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos Group are the other main party in the race to purchase Manchester United, with both bidders yet to find out if their takeover attempts have been successful.

However, should Jassim come out on top, it appears as if he has an immediate transfer plan to win United supporters over. Reports have claimed that Jassim feels that Mbappe “belongs at Man United” and is planning a sensational transfer move for the star forward.

PSG would look to sell Mbappe if he doesn’t extend his stay at the Parc de Princes stay over the coming months and value the player at £170m.

Now, The Mirror have shared a further positive update on Mbappe and a potential move to Man United, saying:

“Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to sell Kylian Mbappe to Manchester United this summer should the Qatari-backed Sheikh Jassim takeover bid at Old Trafford prove successful.”

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Is Kylian Mbappe signing for Manchester United?

Mbappe making the move to the red side of Manchester would be a huge deal and one that could take Erik ten Hag’s side to the next level.

The £893,000-a-week forward has scored a whopping 212 goals in 260 games for PSG and already has 38 goals in 68 games for France.

Still just 24 years of age, the World Cup winner netted 41 times in all competitions last season, with United scoring 58 goals in the Premier League, the fewest out of the top seven sides.

You can see how Mbappe would fit into this United side and possibly star in England, however, a lot still needs to happen before we can think about a transfer.

A deal needs to be struck between the Glazers and Jassim, and with Mike Keegan claiming it could take eight to 12 weeks for an approval process, meaning that the Glazers may remain in control at the start of next season, so a transfer could be tricky.

Tottenham: Spurs After Pochettino-Esque Manager To Replace Conte

Tottenham Hotspur are chasing a young, hungry manager in the mould of 2014 Mauricio Pochettino, according to a report by The Evening Standard.

What's the latest Spurs manager news?

The Lilywhites have little time left to officially appoint a permanent manager before the commencement of this summer's transfer window, with just two games of the Premier League season remaining.

Spurs have also reportedly ruled out appointing former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, who is no longer in contention to succeed Conte despite his status as a free agent.

The north Londoners are thought to be chasing a plethora of in-work managers, though, with Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim, Feyenoord's Arne Slot and Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi among the names to have been linked recently.

Spurs are also thought to be on the lookout for a new sporting director, as Fabio Paratici was forced to resign from his post recently, having lost an appeal against his 30-month worldwide ban from football.

Back to their manager search, Spurs players had been mooted with an interest in re-appointing former boss Pochettino, but the club opted against a move for their ex-manager who has joined Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino

Journalist Dan Kilpatrick, writing for The Standard, has given some background as to why – with supporters once calling for their former boss to come back.

He says Tottenham are looking for a "young, hungry, up-and-coming" manager in the mould of Pochettino in 2014, but not quite the man himself, with the 2023 version of the Argentine not fitting this profile.

This information has come from "sources close" to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, with Pochettino being a decade older, more experienced and a different coach.

Who should Spurs hire instead?

We believe, now both Nagelsmann and Pochettino are out of the running, that Feyenoord's Slot could be a brilliant candidate if Spurs can prise him away from the Netherlands.

The 44-year-old encourages an attack-minded brand of football which could excite Spurs supporters, with Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan claiming he is a forward-thinking "maniac".

Van Der Kraan explained to talkSPORT:

“He is very similar to Pep Guardiola, his ideas are very similar, he is a massive fan of Pep and he plays the same time.“He goes ultra-attacking, he is almost like a maniac. Not on the touchline but it is fantastic to see how he has turned an average side into a wonderful attacking machine."

This philosophy will be of serious interest to the Spurs fanbase, who have long been subject to the more dogmatic styles of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte in recent years.

Chelsea Must Unleash "Undefendable" £97k-p/w Monster v NFFC

Chelsea's season has slumped beyond mediocrity, and as the prestigious west London outfit welcome Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge, pride is the only thing to play for.

Out of both domestic cup competitions in the early phases at the hands of Manchester City, defeated in the Champions League quarter-finals against record-holders Real Madrid, mired in the pit of mid-table in the Premier League; the Blues need to recoup and devise a plan to ensure this season's mistakes do not seep into the next.

Languishing in 11th with four matches to play and mathematically unable to qualify for any of the three European competitions up for grabs, interim manager Frank Lampard – Chelsea's fourth to take the dugout of the season – will be hoping to cultivate confidence before the end of the campaign and clinch successive victories with a triumph over Steve Cooper's Forest.

The Blues dispatched Bournemouth 3-1 on the south coast last time out, and must now navigate towards a late-season purple patch to provide a foundation from which to build upon next term.

Should Chelsea start Mudryk v Forest?

With this in mind, Lampard must unleash £88.5m winter acquisition Mykhailo Mudryk against the Reds this afternoon, despite the Ukrainian's endeavours on English soil being less than auspicious thus far.

After a blistering start to the season with Shakhtar Donetsk that saw the 22-year-old plunder ten goals and eight assists from 18 matches and hailed as "frightening" by the likes of journalist Josh Bunting, Mudryk's transfer to Stamford Bridge has coincided with the club's detrimental discord.

Chelsea winger MykhailoMudryk

Yielding only two assists and yet to find the back of the net himself, the £97k-per-week phenom has looked lively across his recent performances. Starting in the previous win over the Cherries, he completed 94% of his passes and won three of his five duels, and preceding that, a 19-minute cameo against title-challenging Arsenal saw Mudryk make three key passes and earn an admirable 7.0 match rating.

Against Forest, who have shipped 65 goals from 35 matches upon their return to the top flight, Mudryk has a brilliant chance to finally break his duck and gather a bit of confidence before heading into the new term, where he can finally assert his authority on English football and be the "undefendable" – as he was lauded by Jack Collins – whiz that many expect him to be.

And with Chelsea now looking to make it consecutive victories in the Premier League, Mudryk being the centrepiece would only enhance the club's prospects of flourishing once more and seeking out silverware and success in abundance.

Chelsea Eyeing New Signing As Upgrade On Kepa

Chelsea are interested in completing the signing of Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel this summer, according to a fresh report.

Is Kobel having a good season?

The 25-year-old has been an important performer for Dortmund throughout this season, helping them sit second in the Bundesliga table with six matches remaining. He has played 21 league games in total, winning one Man of the Match award from WhoScored, and he has also started four Champions League matches.

Kobel is contracted to Dortmund until the summer of 2026, but his performances for his club could have alerted other teams to make a move for him at the end of this season. Chelsea could do with signing a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, with both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy struggling to look like genuinely convincing first-choice 'keepers at Stamford Bridge moving forward.

It looks as though Kobel could potentially be that man to come in and be an upgrade on the pair, according to an intriguing new transfer claim.

Gregor Kobel

Could Chelsea snap up Dortmund man?

According to Bild [via Sport Witness], Chelsea see Kobel as an "above-average" replacement for Kepa and Mendy, having added him to their "wish list" for the summer and put him "high on the scouting list".

Dortmund are desperate to retain the services of their No.1 stopper for the foreseeable future, however, and it also stated that the player himself is happy there, which could put paid to a sumer move to west London coming to fruition.

If Chelsea could manage to entice Kobel to Stamford Bridge this summer, it would have the potential to be a hugely effective signing, given the level of his displays for Dortmund. He has been hailed as "outstanding" and someone with "huge potential" by former BVB 'keeper Roman Weidenfeller.

At 25, the four-cap Switzerland international should still be years away from the absolute peak of his powers, so he could come in as both Chelsea's first-choice man between the sticks but also someone who could remain that way for around a decade.

It doesn't look as though it will be easy for the Blues to change his mind and make him leave Dortmund, but even if he doesn't come in, it is essential that the next manager who comes in this summer sees a new stopper as a crucial piece of transfer business before the beginning of the 2023/24 season.

Chelsea talks planned for permanent Joao Felix transfer

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed that Chelsea are potentially set to have talks in the next month with Atletico Madrid about turning the Joao Felix loan into a permanent transfer.

What's the latest on Joao Felix and Chelsea?

In the winter, as Todd Boehly splashed the cash on a number of exciting deals, he opened the chequebook to fund a move for the Portuguese star.

Indeed, the Blues forked out a reported £9.69m loan fee plus wages to sign Felix from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid for the remained of the season.

Since then, the 23-year-old has shown glimpses of his star quality with two goals in his first nine outings and it seems as though he's done enough to have Chelsea considering a permanent deal in the summer.

Indeed, while speaking on Chasing Green Arrows, Jones explained: "For Chelsea, I know that they do plan to have talks reasonably soon, probably next month, with Atletico Madrid.

"Just to see like, 'okay, what is actually the situation we're looking at here? How much is it going to be? What are the terms? What are the conditions? When can we do it?'"

Do Chelsea have the option to sign Felix permanently?

Before leaving Atletico Madrid, the talented forward extended his contract with his parent club by a year, meaning his current deal won't expire until 2027.

What's more, the loan move doesn't actually include an obligation to buy, nor is there a fee set as a possible option to negotiate. However, in an interview with AS (via TalkSport), Felix was able to elaborate on the situation.

He said: “I feel very good at Chelsea, I like the club. There’s no option to buy in the contract, so if they want to keep me, they’ll have to find an agreement with Atlético.”

Felix joined Atletico in a €126m (£111m) deal from Benfica in 2019, so he won't come cheap. But seeing as Boehly has spent £566m since taking charge of the Blues, perhaps he'll be more than happy to splash the cash once more.

Seeing as Felix has started to find his rhythm in a Chelsea shirt recently, it might be hard to let him leave. After all, in the draw with Everton last weekend, he was handing an 8/10 player rating in the Evening Standard.

Journalist Dom Smith noted: "About as effective as any Chelsea player. Turned well, had the beating of Everton’s defence with his pace, and notched his second goal for the club with a precise finish early in the second half."
