"Fantastic" 44 y/o Manager Now Keen To Join Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are holding talks with Feyenoord manager Arne Slot, and he is now keen to take over at N17, according to recent reports from the Netherlands.

What's the latest Tottenham manager news?

There have been conflicting reports about whether Julian Nagelsmann is back in contention for the Tottenham job, with The Times reporting he had reemerged as a potential option, however that story has since been dismissed.

As such, Spurs may continue to focus on the two front runners they have already identified, Luis Enrique and Slot, having had "positive contacts" with the latter manager in recent days, with the Dutchman now said to be a "serious candidate."

ENIC have been left "hugely impressed" by the 44-year-old after holding an interview, and they could now be set to finally secure a long-term successor to Antonio Conte.

According to a recent report from De Telegraaf (via The Daily Mail), the Feyenoord boss is keen to join Tottenham, having agreed to take over this summer, and he is set to take charge in north London.

Although his current employers do not want their manager to leave, he has a £6m release clause included in his contract, which Spurs are seemingly willing to pay, amid ongoing talks between the two parties.

The Eredivisie title-winning manager was approached by Leeds United earlier in the campaign, but opted to stay put, however he now appears to be close to sealing a move to the Premier League.

Should Tottenham appoint Arne Slot?

Manchester United have already enjoyed some success since poaching Erik ten Hag from Ajax, having already won the EFL Cup, while they are also in a very good position to qualify for the top four.

As such, appointments from the Eredivisie can clearly work, particularly when a manager has performed as well as Slot, with Feyenoord losing just one game in the entire league season, currently sitting ten points clear of second-place PSV Eindhoven.

Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan has lauded the Bergentheim-born tactician as "fantastic", while he has also likened his "ultra-attacking" play-style to that of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Although success in the Netherlands does not automatically translate to the Premier League, it could be worth taking a risk on Slot, as he has implemented a very exciting style of play to great effect with Feyenoord, indicating he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Leeds Sale No Longer Likely To Happen At £500m

Presenter Conor McGilligan has claimed that Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani will be "burnt" if he sells the club now as he won't make as much profit as anticipated.

What is the latest on Andrea Radrizzani and Leeds United?

The Italian has been the majority shareholder of the Whites since 2017, in which time they've become a Premier League side. However, they now look on the verge of going back down into the Championship which could change an awful lot behind the scenes at Elland Road.

Indeed, as per The Athletic, minority shareholder 49ers Enterprises (the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers) had agreed to buy out the club for close to £500m in January 2024.

However, they had planned to bring that forward to complete a takeover at the end of this season but that exact sale fee was contingent on Leeds still being a Premier League club and so it's now unclear how much Radrizzani can sell the club for.

While speaking about it all on the One Leeds Fan Channel, McGilligan seemed to think that the owner will lose out on millions as a consequence of the club's on-pitch failures.

He explained (3:30): “So I think the issue with Radz at the minute is he knows that if, when Leeds go down, he's going to lose out on £150m to £200m, or even more.

"Leeds are going to go from a club that is going to be worth £400m, £450m and growing in the Premier League to £150m.

"Which is more than he first bought Leeds for, a lot more than first bought Leeds for, and he'll be making a significant profit, but he could have almost made 10 times the money that he bought Leeds for.

"So yeah, he's going to be burnt with that.”

How much will Leeds be worth if they are relegated?

Of course, Leeds aren't relegated yet and can still technically stay up if they beat Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season, while Everton lose and Leicester City fail to win.

Regardless of what happens, though, it seems Radrizzani is already plotting his next move. As per the Daily Mail, he was in Italy on Monday to try and complete a takeover of Sampdoria – which suggests he wants to sell Leeds even if they stay up.

Just as McGilligan mentions, that article claims the Italian could lose millions in a sale this summer, with the club suddenly dropping to a value of around £150m if they go down.

And while that will be a big blow for Radrizzani, it sounds as though the 49ers Enterprises are still set to take charge anyway. No doubt the owner will be desperate to see his club avoid the drop this weekend though for the sake of his bank balance.

Man United Face Losing £26m-Rated Player This Summer Window

Manchester United look set to lose one of their first-team players this summer, with Football Insider reporting that Scott McTominay wants to exit the club during the transfer window.

Who are Manchester United selling this summer?

The midfielder has been in and around the Red Devils' starting eleven for about seven years now, having really broken into the reckoning for them back in the 2016/17 campaign. That year, at just 19 years of age, he played in 17 Premier League outings for the club and his appearance tally has only grown since then. The Scot has since turned out on 143 occasions in the top-flight, 99 of which have been starts.

He's been used frequently again this season, with 23 appearances in the league. However, under Erik ten Hag, he has struggled to establish himself as a starter on a regular basis as he has in the past, with only ten starts to his name. It means that this campaign has seen the least amount of action for McTominay since the 2019/20 season.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

Now, it appears that he could want out of United, with a report from Football Insider stating that the midfielder wants to leave the club during the summer window. He has told friends that he plans to try and exit Old Trafford in order to get more regular minutes, with the player well aware that he needs to be getting onto the field a lot more.

In addition, with other midfield options potentially coming into the equation, there is every chance he could fall even further down the pecking order, and with the Scotland man desperate for minutes, that would be a further blow to the player.

Are Man United letting Scott McTominay go?

The Red Devils then could finally bring an end to McTominay's stint at the club this transfer window. Having come up through the ranks at Old Trafford, it would be sad for them to see one of their own youth team players leave, but it could work out better for player and club.

The 26-year-old has proven that he can still deliver when called upon by Ten Hag though, and it suggests that more regular action could get the best out of him again. For example, for the club this season, he has still averaged 1.4 tackles per game, a better rate than Fred, Raphael Varane and Christian Eriksen, showing that he remains one of their best options in terms of standing in front of the defence and stopping opposition attacks.

He's been lauded in the past for his abilities too, with football journalist Josh Bunting commending him for one of his previous performances by admitting he had been a "standout" for the side when thrown onto the field, whereas he was also once hailed as a "physical monster" by former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The midfielder can still do a good job in the centre of the field – so if he does leave United for first-team football, it could be a good move for the player if he can get regular minutes and show his footballing abilities. If they did let him go too, CIES Football Observatory suggest his value could be around £26m, so United could also fetch quite a respectable fee.

Liverpool Make Move For Gini 2.0 In ‘Tremendous’ £34m Star

Liverpool are interested in OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, with a concrete proposal potentially forthcoming after an initial round of discussion.

What's the latest on Khephren Thuram to Liverpool?

According to RMC Sport (translated courtesy of Caught Offside), Thuram's entourage have already met with Liverpool's recruitment officials to establish ground for a prospective summer transfer, with the Reds in dire need of midfield replenishment after a lacklustre campaign.

L'Equipe (via Sport Witness), reported a day previously that Liverpool have in fact already made moves more concretely than other clubs for his signature.

The necessity for fresh faces has been heightened by the departures of experienced midfield trio James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Thuram, who thrives across multiple central positionings, could provide an exemplary upgrade.

If Liverpool want the rising star they will need to cough up at least €40m (£34m), with Thuram highly regarded by his outfit and attracting attention from the opulent Paris Saint-Germain, though with just two years left on his current deal, Les Aiglons may be inclined to sell.

How good is Khephren Thuram?

Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp will hope for a swift return to prominence next season after Liverpool failed to reach the top four and subsequently miss out on next year's Champions League edition, and to do so the intensity and verve of the midfield must be rekindled after the former fire waned this term.

The "tenacious" – as he was described by talent scout Jacek Kulig – Thuram is just 22-years-old but is already thriving as one of Ligue 1's most promising talents, having made his debut for France this season and played a pivotal role in Nice's season, forging 48 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying eight assists.

Hailed for his "tremendous" midfield skill set by one Anfield Wrap podcaster, the 6 foot 4 colossus is an imposing presence but possesses an elegant and fleet-footed gait that belies his stature, lauded by one tactical report for his efficacy as a ball-carrying vehicle and dominance at the centre of the park.

khephren-thuram-nice-premier-league-liverpool-transfers

As per FBref, he ranks among the top 6% of midfielders plying their trade across Europe's top five leagues for progressive carries and the top 8% for successful take-ons per 90, which means that he is adept at taking on his man and progressing up the pitch, two elements that have arguably been missing at Anfield this season.

Gini Wijnaldum used to bring this kind of assiduous sheen to the Anfield centre when he plied his trade at the club, playing a composed role and keeping the system ticking, boasting a career average pass completion rate of 88.4% and one of the centrepieces of Klopp's momentous feats since arriving to take the helm of the Reds.

Thuram is hailed as the "perfect profile" – as stated by RMC Sport reporter Alex Jaquin – and indeed embodies the energy and enthusiasm that Klopp demands to whir the cogs of his high-octane philosophy at full throttle, with his manager Didier Digard also remarking him to be "very hard-working".

This is indeed the role Wijnaldum fulfilled on Merseyside during the zenith of Liverpool's illustrious success under Klopp's tutelage, with the industrious Dutch midfielder making 237 appearances for the Reds and leaving Klopp waxing lyrical, dubbing him "perfect" for his central work.

It is imperative that the £15k-per-week Thuram is signed; Liverpool must pull no punches in paving the foundation of their renaissance and the Frenchman would fit into the system like tailor-made boots.

Tottenham Lining Up £50m Move For "Sensational" Star

Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a blockbuster £50m move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to a recent report from The Daily Star.

Is Jadon Sancho leaving Man United?

In many ways, the 2022-23 campaign was very difficult for Sancho, given that manager Erik ten Hag confirmed that he was "not fit enough" to involved with the Man United squad, while also confirming that he struggled "mentally".

That said, the winger did manage to force his way back into contention in the second half of the season, making a total of 26 appearances in the Premier League, and he found the back of the net in the Red Devils' final game of the season.

Despite the 23-year-old's resurgence, he has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with a move back to former club Borussia Dortmund still a possibility, as Ten Hag has become increasingly impatient with his disappointing form.

Tottenham have also been named as potential suitors for the Englishman, with The Daily Star reporting they are lining up a blockbuster £50m move, as they look to rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs are definitely interested in testing Man United's resolve, however the Red Devils could hold out for a fee of around £60m, and it remains to be seen whether the north London club are willing to go that high.

With the left-winger no longer an automatic pick for England, rivals clubs are monitoring his availability closely.

Should Tottenham sign Sancho?

Although he has not been able to hit the heights expected of him, the former Borussia Dortmund man has shown signs of improvement as the season has progressed, having been hailed as "sensational" by members of the media back in April.

In fact, despite it being a difficult season for the London-born winger, he still managed to record seven goals in all competitions, including six in the Premier League, while he also weighed in with three assists.

Man United's Jadon Sancho

Of course, those numbers are some way off what was expected of the £375k-per-week star, given just how well he performed for Dortmund in the Bundesliga, registering 34 goal contributions in 32 league games in the 2019-20 campaign.

However, a fresh start may be required if Sancho is to reignite his previous form, and he could be a very good signing for Tottenham, although they should not pay £60m for a player who has not been at his best this season.

Chelsea Plotting Part Exchange Deal For £43m-Rated Player

Chelsea's latest effort to try and secure a deal for Andre Onana could see them offer Inter three players in a swap deal, according to a report from Football Insider.

How good is Andre Onana?

After joining up with Inter for the 2022/23 season, he has burst onto the scene in Italy and established himself quickly as the club's first-choice shot-stopper. He featured in 24 league games for the club and conceded only 24 along the way, although it wasn't enough to help his side to the title. Instead, they had to settle for a third-place finish, although they did reach the Champions League final.

His performances inbetween the sticks have led to him emerging as one of the standout options in his position in Europe. When compared to others in goal amongst the Men's 'Top Five' big leagues for example, he ranks within the top 15% for goals against per 90 (0.95) and is within the top 12% for his save percentage too (76.4%).

With Chelsea struggling to get going in the Premier League this season, they have now turned to Onana as a potential transfer option in goal for them this summer. It seems as though they are that determined to sign him that they are even prepared to lose players to do so.

That's because according to a report from Football Insider, the Blues are prepared to offer Inter three players as part of a transfer deal. Not only would they offer the Italian side £40m but would also be willing to send Kalidou Kouliably, Romelu Lukaku and Trevoh Chalobah to Serie A.

It sees an immediate exit for Lukaku, despite the player having cost the Blues £97.5m. He struggled at Stamford Bridge and spent last season in Italy, and would make a permanent return to the Serie A side if they accept this deal.

Inter's Andre Onana

Should Chelsea sign Onana?

The Inter man has proven that he can perform on the biggest stage, having helped lead his side to a European final and also having stood out statistically against others in his position. He is a player who has really caught the eye of many in the game recently too, with treble-winning boss Pep Guardiola labelling the goalkeeper as "exceptional" ahead of Man City's clash with Inter for example.

The 27-year-old then would certainly help keep the rest of the Chelsea defence confident with him inbetween the sticks if he did move to Stamford Bridge. Their eagerness to sign him is shown by this latest offer and the Blues will be hoping that will be enough to tempt Inter into letting the player move to England.

Chelsea Could Sign Outstanding £55m Caicedo Alternative

It is all change at Chelsea, particularly in the centre of the park.

N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are close to departing Stamford Bridge as the club is set for a completely new era under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are very interested in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, however, Tony Bloom’s £120m asking price is a stumbling block and the deal is likely to drag out across the summer.

A cheaper and more attainable alternative to the Ecuadorian is Everton’s Amadou Onana.

What’s the latest on Amadou Onana to Chelsea?

Last week, Sacha Tovolieri reported that Chelsea could be in the market for Onana who may cost around £55m.

Now, speaking to GIVEMESPORT, reputable journalist Dean Jones has delivered his own thoughts on whether a move could go through, saying: “Onana's an interesting one. Ideally, Everton won't let him go. He's had a great season, but he's very young. He does fit the profile that we're seeing Chelsea go for at the moment.

"He's 21 and he's new to the Premier League. He's making his impact and, as part of that, he'll have huge resale value if he does come through the door. And this is part of Chelsea's new model."

How would Amadou Onana fit in at Chelsea?

After making a £33m move to Goodison Park last summer, the Belgian made 33 Premier League appearances in his debut year in England, averaging 2.2 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and 1.1 clearances per game in a solid defensive season.

Described as “outstanding” by journalist Connor O'Neill, the six-cap international ranks within the top 26% in Europe’s top five leagues among his positional peers for the aforementioned metrics, as well as the highest 7% for aerials won per 90, according to FBref, to underline his dominant presence.

As such, the 6 foot 4 colossus has the potential to form a formidable partnership with Enzo Fernandez at Chelsea.

Since the Argentine’s record-breaking £106.8m move to west London, he has flashes of his wondrous brilliance, particularly with his pinpoint long-range passing and close control. This is demonstrated by his rank within the best 3% for passes attempted and progressive passes per 90.

But, we are yet to see the best of the World Cup winner on a consistent basis as he has often been deployed as a lone pivot, where he has been exposed due to his lack of pace and dynamism.

Enzo Fernandez

In Onana, this ball-winning, athletic titan would therefore be able to take the burden off Enzo and their differing styles of play make for a perfectly curated combination in the middle of the park.

In a deal worth potentially just half of what may be paid for Caicedo, the signing of Onana would be a rarely astute piece of business under the new ownership.

Man United Close To £60m Mason Mount Deal

Manchester United are closing in on a £60m move to sign midfielder Mason Mount, according to reports, with a five-year contract totalling £52m also agreed.

Is Mason Mount signing for Man United?

The Red Devils have seemingly identified Mount, dubbed a "mad player" by Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand, as a top target to bolster Erik ten Hag’s side this summer.

The 24-year-old is entering the final 12 months of his Chelsea contract but could still be on the move for big money. Man United made an initial £40m offer earlier this month for the midfielder, however, it was quickly turned down by their Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils returned in recent days with an improved £50m bid which was a guaranteed £45m fee plus £5m in add-ons, but that was also rejected.

However, it now looks as if the two clubs are close to shaking hands on a deal for Mount, who Kylian Mbappe has called a “superb player”.

According to The Daily Star's Chief Sports Writer, Jeremy Cross, Man United are now closing in on a £60m deal with Chelsea following further talks.

Those at Old Trafford see £60m as a fair price, and with Mount already agreeing on a five-year deal worth around £200,000-a-week, a transfer looks set to go through and will be worth £112m in total when it comes to a fee and wages.

Ten Hag is expected to get his man, though, and wants the transfer for the England international completed in time so he can join the United squad on the pre-season tour of America next month.

Chelsea's Mason Mount

Who else could Man United sign this summer?

There has been no shortage of transfer rumours at Old Trafford so far this summer, and it looks like it could be a busy few months in the transfer market alongside a possible takeover, with Mount potentially the first of many through the door.

A new goalkeeper could be needed with David de Gea’s future yet to be resolved. A direct meeting was held with the representative of Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, a shot-stopper who Ten Hag worked with previously at Ajax.

Meanwhile, a marquee attacker also appears to be on the United agenda, with Harry Kane a long-term target. The Tottenham striker, like Mount, is entering the final 12 months of his contract and a move to Old Trafford did look unlikely. However, reports have suggested that the Red Devils could be tempted back to the table, should Kane’s asking price be lowered from £100m to £80m.

Finally, AS Monaco defender Axel Disasi appears to be another target for United over the coming months. Those in Manchester are thought to be in the lead to secure the Frenchman’s services, so there could be a number of signings ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Rangers Could Ditch Colak In Move For £3.5m "Threat"

Glasgow Rangers may be about to embark on their busiest summer in recent memory, as Michael Beale looks set to rejig the squad and move on some deadwood who don’t fit his plans.

Four players have already arrived at Ibrox ahead of next season, and there could be another few deals, while five players departed following the end of their contracts, most notably Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

One name that has been linked with an exit recently is striker Antonio Colak, which is perhaps surprising considering he only joined the Light Blues last summer. He netted 18 goals in all competitions last term, yet started just six matches under Beale following some fitness concerns, and he may depart to make way for another striker who fits the profile that the manager is looking for.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Gers have been linked with a move for striker Ike Ugbo, and he is someone who Beale knows well, having coached him during his spell at Chelsea a few years ago.

The Canada international won't come cheap, however, with a fee of around £3.5m being demanded by French side Troyes.

Could Rangers sign Ike Ugbo this summer?

The Ibrox side have already lured one attacker to Glasgow as Sam Lammers arrived recently from Atalanta, yet due to the departures of Morelos and Kent, another one or two forward options may be required – especially if Colak is allowed to leave.

Ugbo enjoyed his most prolific spell at Belgian side Cercle Brugge, scoring 17 goals across 34 games in 2020/21, and although his scoring rate has dipped since moving to Ligue 1 – netting only 7 goals in 40 appearances for Troyes – his potential could be enough for Beale to take a gamble.

Indeed, the former England U20 international switched allegiances to Canada in 2021 and has gained eight caps since, even securing a place in their World Cup squad last year. Although he didn’t make an appearance at the tournament, the experience, should stand him in good stead.

ike-ugbo-troyes-ligue-one

Despite not being as clinical as Colak, he could offer a differing variety of attributes compared to the Croatian striker, as he is able to press effectively and is solid at winning aerial duels, suggesting he could fit in well at Rangers with his dynamic nature.

This doesn’t mean he can't offer a direct danger, with the striker being dubbed a “threat” by Canadian journalist Ben Steiner in 2022, and he could certainly become a wise investment for the Light Blues.

Liverpool Eye Swoop For £60m ‘Tank’ At Anfield

An update has emerged on Liverpool's plans to add another central defender to their squad ahead of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign…

Is Marc Guehi joining Liverpool?

According to Football Insider, the Reds are now eyeing a swoop for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi during the summer transfer window, as FSG attempt to further bolster Jurgen Klopp's side.

The report claims that they are ready to battle it out with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United to land the England international's signature in the coming weeks.

However, it is also stated that the Eagles are set to demand a fee in the region of £60m and that their current asking price makes a deal difficult for teams to complete.

How good is Marc Guehi?

The 22-year-old is a right-footed central defender who could come in to compete with the likes of Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, and Ibrahima Konate for a spot at the back.

His arrival could allow Klopp to brutally ditch Nat Phillips, who he previously hailed as "insane", from the squad this summer, amid interest in his services from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Reporter James Pearce recently Tweeted: "Dutch champions Feyenoord are interested in Nat Phillips, who is valued by LFC at around £10m."

The German head coach must take advantage of the Eredivisie team's desire to sign the defender by green-lighting his exit before signing Palace's Guehi as the 26-year-old's replacement.

Phillips only made two Premier League appearances during the 2022/23 campaign, with an average Sofascore rating of 6.85, and was sent out on loan to Bournemouth in the Championship for the second half of the 2021/22 season.

His lack of game time last term coupled with the manager's willingness to send him to the second tier of English football suggests that there is no immediate plan for him to be involved as a regular in the first-team.

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips.

At the age of 26, now could be the perfect time to cash in on Phillips as he has been unable to develop to a point where Klopp is comfortable with him playing week-in-week-out at Anfield.

The signing of Guehi would allow the boss to sanction an exit as the Palace battler is a proven Premier League performer who could come in to compete with the current first-choice options.

Last season, the ex-Chelsea prospect averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.94 across 37 league appearances and won 63% of his individual duels, which shows that the English titan can dominate opposition attackers by winning the majority of his physical contests.

Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk (7.10) was the only Liverpool centre-back to average a higher Sofascore rating than 6.90. This suggests that Guehi, who was once dubbed a "tank" by former England U21 teammate Joe Bursik, is a player with the potential to be one of Klopp's best options in that position.

Marc Guehi's Palace statistics in 2022/23.

As you can see in the graphic above, as provided by Opta, the Eagles colossus excels at winning the ball back for his team and was among the best centre-backs in that department last term, which is another reason he could be an exciting addition for the Reds.

Therefore, FSG must fend off competition from Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle to secure the England international's signature as he could be a fantastic signing, who would also allow Klopp to ditch Phillips this summer.
