The experienced S Sriram guided the Goa chase, making an unbeaten 84 to finish the match with 11.2 overs remaining. Bandekar assisted him with a breezy 31, and the pair put on 76 for the fifth wicket, the biggest stand of the match.

Monish Mishra launched a fearsome onslaught on the Uttar Pradesh attack at the Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground to give Madhya Pradesh their second consecutive win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Mishra’s knock, coming in at number three, made light of two early losses in the chase of 275 off 45 overs. Eight sixes and ten fours were hammered as he took a special liking to Sudeep Tyagi’s medium-pace which conceded 52 in five overs. Tyagi managed to hit back and remove both Mishra and his partner-in-crime Jalaj Saxena who scored 69, but it was only temporary solace. However things went pear-shaped from there on in, as three run-outs and some tight bowling from the spinners Murali Kartik and Karan Sharma checked the progress of the innings. Karan finished with two wickets, before Bangar came back to blow away the tail, and the innings closed at 207. Bangar continued to stamp his authority with a scintillating knock that ensured that the result was never in doubt. West Zone

A gutsy last-wicket stand spearheaded by the nervesless Shitanshu Kotak made all the difference as Saurasthra outlasted Mumbai in an attritional battle at Sardar Patel Stadium B in Ahmedabad. Batting first, Mumbai never came to terms with the conditions, slowly progressing to 63 for 2 in the 19th over before losing the plot. Five wickets fell for 33 runs as Sandeep Jobanputra, Jayesh Odedra and Ravindra Jadeja struck regularly. Abhishek Nayar’s sedate 36 and a minor salvage operation from the tail gave Mumbai 159 and something to bowl at. Saurashtra’s reply had disaster written all over it as they lost wickets with alarming regularity to some tight bowling from the trio of Ramesh Powar, Ajit Agarkar and Iqbal Abdulla. At 119 for 9, Mumbai would have thought that it was only a matter of time before the last wicket fell, but it was not to be. Number 11, Jaidev Unadkat, blocked around for 55 minutes and 24 balls which yielded him four runs, but more significantly gave Kotak the elbow-room to inch his side through to the target. The paid had added 40, tellingly the highest stand of the day, when the hard-fought victory came in the 47th over.No such thrills in the adjoining Sardar Patel Stadium C where Baroda romped home against Gujarat by the comfortable margin of 71 runs. Pinal Shah’s busy 77 took advantage of the toss and set Baroda up for a big score. Yusuf Pathan kept the momentum going with a chirpy 40 from number four, before Swapnil Singh and Abhimanyu Chauhan brought up a strong finish to take their side to 297 for 7. Nileshkumar Chauhan’s haul of 3 for 50 gave Gujarat some solace in an otherwise shoddy display. Niraj Patel led Gujarat’s chase with a pugnacious 83 off 82 balls, but no one else from his side had the stomach for a fight. Wickets fell with monotonous regularity through the innings before Yusuf hastened the end with 3 for 7 in his 1.5 overs, which gave his side the bonus point.

Over recent seasons, it’s safe to say the January transfer window hasn’t exactly been a busy one for Spurs – so news that they will indeed be active this month should come as music to the ears of Lilywhites supporters.

Conte needs backing in the transfer market if he is to make a success of his tenure in charge with managing director Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy tasked to do just that.

The latter man has apparently met with Tottenham owner Joe Lewis in the Bahamas to discuss transfer strategy in what could be a key factor to Conte’s plans this month.

Michael Clarke has spoken publicly for the first time since his sudden departure from Australia’s tour and his subsequent break-up with Lara Bingle. Clarke fronted a packed media conference at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium, where he mentioned the support he had received from Shane Warne and insisted the media frenzy following him and his former fiancée would not affect the focus on his cricket.”I have spoken to Warney,” Clarke said. “I’ve spoken to a lot of my friends and my family. He’s been a wonderful friend of mine for a long time and he was excited to see me back in New Zealand and wished me all the best for Friday’s Test match.”Clarke made a hasty exit during Australia’s one-day series when he flew back to Sydney to deal with his relationship issues, which were followed intensely by the Australian tabloid press. About 30 members of the media, some of whom will return home before the Test begins, surrounded Clarke but he said he was solely concentrating on preparing for the game.”I made the decision firstly to go home but then to come back to New Zealand knowing that there was a big Test match starting on Friday,” he said. “I knew I’d be capable to get up for that. Preparation has been very important to me throughout my whole career and it’s no different now. The start of Ralf Ragnicks reign as Manchester United boss has been a pretty poor one. United looked poor despite positive results against Norwich and Newcastle, but their inability to threaten against Wolves showed the team needs improvements despite the quality of the squad.

The major hole in the starting team is the same as it was under Ole, in the centre of midfield. It seems like some combination of Scott Mctominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Donny Van de Beek cannot be the midfield pairing for a Ragnick 4-2-2-2 system. So United should look in the market for another midfield option. While they may not be able to get players like Declan Rice or Frenkie De Jong in January, there are some excellent options that are realistic signings in January.

Denis Zakaria- Borussia Monchengladbach

Swiss midfielder Denis Zakaria has been linked to both sides of Manchester for a couple of years now and seems like the perfect option for United and Ragnick. Zakaria started to bring rumours of a big move in 2019 when his defensive numbers began to explode. Zakaria emerged as one of the best destroyers in midfield, getting close to 6 tackles and interceptions a game, similar numbers to Wilfred Ndidi. Since then, Zakaria has also developed his passing massively.

Zakaria’s contract expires in the summer and so United could get him at a cut price. He is gettable in January and would suit the Ragnick system. It might suit you to check out some of the excellent betting options you have, which could be any of these online gambling sites.

Amadou Haidara- RB Leipzig

Haidara was heavily linked to United when Ragnick joined, due to Ragnicks history with the Red Bull group. But Haidara is an exceptional player who would be very useful for Manchester United’s midfield. Haidara is much more of a progressive player than Zakaria, creating 2.8 shots per game and being in the top 8% for progressive passes in his position.

In terms of getting him in January, it may be tough. Haidara has a contract with Leipzig that runs until 2025. There are some rumours about a release clause but it is difficult to tell exactly how much it would cost to get him out of Germany. Haidara would be a great progressive option for Manchester United, who have struggled to progress the ball at the start of the season.

Sergej Milinkovic Savic- Lazio

Another midfielder who has been linked to English clubs for years, Milinkovcic Savic seems to be one of United’s preferred options. The 26 year old Serbian midfielder is another midfielder who does not offer much defensively, with about three tackles an interceptions per game this season. But his attacking numbers are outstanding.

Milinkovic Savic is in the top three percent for non-penalty goals, assists, shots, touches in the oppositions box and progressive passes. Milinkovic Savic has 14 goals and assists in just 1600 league minutes this season. While he would cost a lot to United in January, he would be a great addition to this team.
