علق هاني رمزي لاعب الأهلي ومنتخب مصر السابق، على هزيمة الأحمر أمام الوداد في نهائي دوري أبطال أفريقيا، مشيرًا إلى إنه ليس لديه مانع للتواجد في منصب المدير الفني لاتحاد الكرة.

وخسر الأهلي لقبه الحادي عشر في بطولة دوري أبطال أفريقيا، وذلك بعد الهزيمة أمام الوداد بثنائية نظيفه في المباراة التي أقيمت بالمغرب يوم 30 مايو المنقضي، ليحقق الأخير لقبه الثالث في تاريخه.

وقال رمزي في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “الحياة”: “روح الأهلي غابت عن الفريق في نهائي إفريقيا، وكان يجب على اللاعبين القتال للتتويج باللقب، والفريق هزم داخل الملعب ليس خارجه”.

وتابع: “بيتسو موسيماني أخطأ بالاعتماد على الكرات الطويلة في اللقاء، والأهلي فنيا وكعناصر أفضل من الوداد، وهذا ظهر في نهاية المباراة”.

واختتم: “لدي خطة لتطوير الكرة المصرية حتى 2038، ونحن في مصر لدينا إمكانيات رائعة، مشيرًا إلى أنه يجب تطوير كل المنظومة الكروية في مصر للاستمرار في النجاحات بالنسبة للأندية والمنتخبات”.

Paul Collingwood is confident that a few days away from the spotlight will help him regain his form in the final Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge. Instead of playing for Durham against Sussex in the County Championship, he opted for some rest and a couple of intensive one-on-one sessions with Andy Flower, the England batting coach.Collingwood has struggled in the early part of the season, both for county and country. He has 32 runs in three innings in the current series, and 24 of those came in a scratchy effort that helped England across the line at Old Trafford. He hasn’t made a century for almost a year, when he reached three figures at Chester-le-Street, his home ground, against West Indies.There was the opportunity for him to get some middle time in the Championship between Tests, but Collingwood believes his decision to step back for a few days will pay dividends.”There was a choice to make, but in international cricket there is never much time to work on things technically,” he told the . “This was an opportunity after two back-to-back Test matches to go away, have a look at it from the outside rather than going straight back into cricket and seeing what I really needed.”At the time it was decided the best thing for me was to work on my game. Andy [Flower] came up to Durham for a couple of days and we had two very good sessions and worked a bit technically but spoke about the game more than anything else – sometimes that works better than anything else.”Collingwood can draw on memories of when he hauled himself out of his previous England slump, on the 2006-07 tour of Australia. Following his double century in Adelaide he suffered a lean end to the Test series and then made 83 runs in his first six innings of the CB Series. However, he bounced back with two match-winning centuries and a 70 in the next three innings. His turnaround in Australia came from something as simple as changing his bat grip.”There have been plenty of other times in my career I’ve been in bad nick,” he said. “The last time I came out of a run like this all I did was change my grip to pink and that was pretty much it – I might even change it this week as well to see what happens.”Collingwood is playing with a long-standing shoulder injury after having an injection before the series. He only bowled one over at Old Trafford, but could be needed for more at Trent Bridge in conditions that usually favour swing bowling.

Liverpool could sign their ideal heir to former midfielder Gini Wijnaldum this summer after being linked with a move for Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga.

What’s the story?

The Reds are one of several clubs chasing the 18-year-old’s signature and are even ahead of the likes of Real Madrid in the queue for his signature, according to The Express.

Fellow Premier League side Manchester United have been heavily linked with Camavinga in recent weeks, though.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently declared that the France international is in no rush to resolve his future and is open to the idea of moving in a free transfer next summer, potentially giving Liverpool renewed hope that they can secure his services.

“Eduardo Camavinga is in no hurry to decide on his next club: Manchester United have been informed about the situation and had direct contacts, they need at least €35/40 million for Camavinga this summer,” he revealed to BenchWarmers.

“The player is waiting to see what will happen, but does not rule out leaving as a free agent next summer with many other clubs also from Spain together with PSG who would join the race.”

Heir to Gini Wijnaldum

After making his first-team debut back in 2019, Camavinga has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting, young talents, making 82 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club.

His impressive performances at club level earned an international call-up at the start of last season, where his outstanding displays caught the eye of his teammates.

Red Devils midfielder and compatriot Paul Pogba gave the youngster a glowing reference when they linked up on national team duty last October.

“It is a pleasure to see him don the (France) shirt,” he said. “To score after his first start (against Ukraine in a friendly), that is honestly wonderful,” said the United ace.

“I was truly happy for him. I only wish him the best and much more. He has everything for that. His future is in his hands.”

With Wijnaldum’s exit leaving a gaping hole in the Liverpool engine room, director of football Michael Edwards must swoop for Camavinga in the current window to beat United and the other interested parties to his signature.

The £49.5m-rated gem has the potential to become one of football’s star performers for many years to come and could help propel Jurgen Klopp’s charges back to the Premier League summit.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in a deal to bring Daryl Dike to The Hawthorns this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by the Express & Star, who claimed that Valerien Ismael is keen to add a traditional centre-forward to his Albion squad in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window, with the Orlando City striker thought to be one of the Frenchman’s targets.

The 21-year-old, who the Baggies boss knows well from his time at Barnsley, failed to secure a move to the Tykes earlier this summer despite the club having an option to make his loan deal a permanent move, as they could not afford to pay Orlando’s asking price for the USA international.

Finally, the report stated that the MLS club could be tempted into sanctioning the temporary departure of the youngster once again this summer, albeit with a significant loan fee attached to a potential deal.

Ismael would love him

With Ismael currently lacking a traditional number nine in his Albion squad – with only Kenneth Zohore somewhat fitting this description – and Dike impressing under the Frenchman at Oakwell last season, the signing of the 21-year-old would very much appear to be a deal that the West Brom manager would love to get over the line this summer.

Indeed, over his 19 Championship appearances for the Tykes last term – 13 of which came as starts – the £7.2m-rated man scored a whopping nine goals, a rate of 0.5 per game, as well as averaging 1.7 shots per match.

These returns saw the man Ismael himself dubbed an “unbelievable” player earn an average SofaScore match rating of 7.02, ranking him as Barnsley’s third-best performer in the league in 2020/21.

As such, it would indeed appear highly advisable for club owner Guochuan Lai to do all he can to secure the signing of Dike this summer.
