Substituto do compatriota Jonathan Calleri, o atacante argentino Andres Chavez está apenas no seu início de trajetória no São Paulo, mas já tem números expressivos. A arrancada do camisa 9, com seis gols em nove jogos, é a melhor de um atacante nos últimos 14 anos pelo clube e pode superar todos que vestiram a camisa tricolor neste século. Para isso, ele terá de fazer pelo menos dois gols contra o Cruzeiro, nesta quinta-feira, no Morumbi, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro.

Com seis gols em nove jogos, Chavez supera nomes relevantes como Aloísio ‘Chulapa’, Ricardo Oliveira, Washington, Borges, Adriano, Fernandão, Luis Fabiano (em sua última passagem), Calleri e Alexandre Pato, por exemplo. No século, desde 2001, o centroavante já é o terceiro, empatado com Christian, que fez seis gols em dez jogos em 2005. Acima deles, apenas Luis Fabiano (sete entre 2001 e 2002) e Reinaldo (oito em 2002). É para comemorar.

-Individualmente, estou muito contente. Coletivamente, sei que vamos melhorar ainda mais. Vejo pelo lado positivo a oportunidade de marcar os gols, porque sabia que teria alguma expectativa após a passagem do Calleri, que foi muito boa e importante para o clube. Junto com essa minha boa fase, quero fortalecer o coletivo. Felizmente tem dado resultado, mas seguirei trabalhando para melhorar ainda mais isso – afirmou Chavez.

Frank McAvennie has exclusively told Football FanCast that Celtic’s failure to sign a goalkeeper cost them the chance of winning 10 in a row.

In each of the previous eight seasons, the Hoops have had either Craig Gordon or Fraser Forster as their main shotstopper, but the latter’s loan deal expired last summer, whilst Gordon rejected a new contract offer before joining Hearts.

Celtic did bring in AEK Athens goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas, leaving Scott Bain and youngster Conor Hazard to compete for the number two spot.

But Barkas and Bain have both been in and out the team, whilst Northern Ireland international Hazard enjoyed a brief spell in the side around Christmas when Bain was injured.

McAvennie revealed that Celtic did try and bring Forster back to Paradise, although the England shotstopper ended up staying with parent-club Southampton, where he’s started three of their previous four Premier League matches.

And the former Hoops striker admitted that not replacing Forster allowed Rangers to cruise to their first league title since 2011.

He told Football FanCast: “I think they wanted him in the summer and he wouldn’t come. So I don’t know if the fans would be too happy about it.

I think that was the biggest problem going for 10, they didn’t have a goalkeeper. Somebody went out and bought Barkas, but no disrespect to the boy, he’s not good enough for Celtic. And Bain has not done it, he’s not brave enough.

“Look at what Allan McGregor has done for Rangers, he’s basically won the league for them, and I’m not being disrespectful to the rest of the players.

“But Forster won the league for Celtic last season, he won the cup – they were battered by Rangers and Celtic won it 1-0. When you have got a good goalkeeper, that’s what happens. He was worth the money, I don’t know why they didn’t spent it.”

Celtic’s defensive issues have been a major reason for their struggles this season. The managerless Hoops have already conceded more than they shipped throughout the previous two campaigns, not helped by the amount of chopping and changing between the sticks.

وبسؤاله، “هل تنازلت عن بعض المبالغ المالية للزمالك في سبيل إتمام الصفقة؟”، أردف: “نعم هذا بسبب حبي للمكان للنادي الذي نشأت فيه، وتنازلت عن راتب شهر أو شهرين، وكنت سأرحل عن نادي الزمالك بشكل حر في نهاية الموسم”.

واستطرد لاعب التعاون: “لم أفضل ذلك وكنت أريد من الزمالك أن يستفيد مني بمقابل مادي محترم لكي يحل الأزمة المادية المتواجدة في النادي، وإن شاء الله أساعد نادي التعاون لكي يخرج من كبوته”.

واختتم: “أقول لجماهير الزمالك إن هذا النادي بيتي، يوجد من لم يتفهم الموضوع ويأخذ الأمور بحساسية بعض الشىء، وسأظل أحب جمهور الزمالك حتى آخر يوم في عمري”.

Leicester City look set to reignite their interest in Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor this summer.

According to The Sun, ‘Brendan Rodgers looks set to try his luck with a bid’ in the summer window.

The Foxes made enquiries for the central midfielder in 2019 and 2020 and it seems as if they haven’t given up hope in signing the Scotland international at the third time of asking.

McGregor, who is on £20,000-a-week at Parkhead, has started every Premiership fixture for the Hoops this season, taking the armband whenever Scott Brown has been absent.

He has made more than 300 appearances for the club, with his current contract set to expire in 2024.

Transfer Tavern take

Reports back in February suggested that McGregor was in line to become Celtic’s new full-time captain and commit the rest of his career to the Hoops in the process.

That may well still be the case, but it seems as if Rodgers will once again look to take the 27-year-old to the King Power Stadium.

Hopefully McGregor won’t have his head turned to play in the Premier League, as in our view, he could be crucial under likely new manager Eddie Howe.

He will be one of the most experienced members of the squad alongside James Forrest when Brown departs, and should McGregor leave, the middle of midfield may need strengthening considerably.

O CIES – Football Observatory divulgou a lista dos 100 clubes que mais arrecadam com transferências de jogadores desde 2010. Os valores somam apenas transferências para as cinco grandes ligas (Alemanha, Espanha, França, Inglaterra e Itália).

Com aproximadamente R$ 1,5 bilhão, o Liverpool lidera o ranking, seguido por Valencia e Juventus. O Brasil tem seis representantes na lista dos cem, mas o maior vendedor é apenas o 42º colocado.

Os Reds arrecadaram apenas em transações o total de R$ 1,58 bilhão nos últimos seis anos. O valor é três vezes superior ao que o Santos, o melhor brasileiro, conseguiu no mesmo período. Vale lembrar que o Peixe negociou Neymar com o Barcelona neste período.

Entre os dez melhores vendedores não aparece nenhum clube do Campeonato Francês ou Alemão. Três são ingleses, três espanhóis, dois italianos e dois portugueses.

Como dito antes, o Santos é o time que mais arrecada com transferências no Brasil, mas aparece apenas na 42ª posição. São Paulo, Internacional, Corinthians, Palmeiras e Fluminense aparecem no top-100.

Danny Mills has dropped a quite big relegation claim on the potential takeover of Newcastle United by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) group.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Leeds United and Manchester City defender thinks that any potential deal between Mike Ashley and the KSA consortium would “without a shadow of a doubt” rely on the St. James’ Park faithful staying in the Premier League:

“I would say so, yes. Without a shadow of a doubt.

“It’s a completely different proposition buying a club in the Championship than it is in the Premier League.

“The whole money situation changes beyond belief. Literally at the blow of a whistle. When that final whistle goes at the end of the season, if Newcastle go down it changes everything, absolutely everything for potential investors.”

Newcastle survival is paramount

Steve Bruce’s team must prioritise avoiding being relegated from the top flight down to the EFL Championship before any sort of takeover talk can even be considered at the end of the 2020/21 term.

If the worst were to happen in the North East, then it is very unlikely that the KSA’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) would still be interested in a takeover, simply because of the money involved as Mills suggests.

Ashley would also be able to demand nowhere near the kind of money that he would have originally hoped for if the Tyneside club were to find themselves relegated, meaning that the chief executive of Sports Direct may suddenly be reluctant to sell.

Nonetheless, everything is all speculation at the moment until the fate of the Magpies is sealed come the end of the season, and then the picture will surely become a lot clearer.

Não se trata de um racha, de acordo com quem acompanha a política do São Paulo, mas um distanciamento. Membros da situação já não apontam Leco como candidato absoluto para a próxima eleição e colocam Natel como uma alternativa. Isso mostra que a unidade na gestão já não salta aos olhos.

Desde que assumiu, em outubro do ano passado, Leco tem optado por postura classificada como impopular. Como exemplo, aliados citam a relação com conselheiros, sempre famintos por dar pitaco. Dizem que na maioria das vezes o mandatário dá de ombros e não se deixa levar pelas cornetas. Isso, ao mesmo tempo em que é elogiado, causa problema pois aumenta a satisfação interna. “Eu concordo com essa postura, mas não sei se ganha eleição”, foi frase dita por um membro da cúpula. Em uma decisão recente, Natel não gostou de não ter sido ouvido. Sintomático.

Roberto Natel, além de possuir o sobrenome mais sagrado no São Paulo, tem atuação política importante no clube. Ele é sobrinho de Laudo Natal, ex-presidente e patrono do Tricolor. Era um dos cotados para suceder Juvenal Juvêncio em 2014, competindo com Leco, quando o ex-presidente morto no ano passado optou por Carlos Miguel Aidar.

وفقًا لصحيفة “آس” الإسبانية، فإن مشاكل اللياقة البدنية المعتادة لميندي جعلت إدارة ريال مدريد تفكر في بديل محتمل قبل فترة الانتقالات الصيفية.

هذا يعني أن ريال مدريد يمكنهم إعادة التوقيع مع جارسيا خريج الأكاديمية هذا الصيف مقابل نصف الرسوم التي يقدرها رايو، لأنهم ما زالوا يمتلكون 50٪ من حقوقه، مما يجعله خيارًا مغريًا لمسؤولي برنابيو.

أثار جارسيا إعجاب فريق رايو هذا الموسم، حيث خاض 21 مباراة في الدوري الإسباني وساعد رجال إيراولا على مواكبة السباق من أجل التأهل للمنافسات الأوروبية.

وفي الوقت نفسه، من المتوقع إرسال ميجيل، الذي شارك أربع مرات فقط مع ريال مدريد في 2021/2022، على سبيل الإعارة الموسم المقبل.

Manchester City will be looking to take another step closer to the Premier League title when they take on Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium in Saturday’s early kick off.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are one of the few teams to have taken points off City this season as they earned a 1-1 draw at Elland Road earlier in the campaign.

There are two changes in defence, as Aymeric Laporte comes in for John Stones, who is rested ahead of Wednesday, whilst the “incredible” Kyle Walker drops out after a disappointing display in midweek, with Joao Cancelo moving to right-back.

This allows Oleksandr Zinchenko to come in at left-back, and he could provide a more defensively secure option than Benjamin Mendy, which may prove pivotal in City’s hopes of nullifying the dangerous Raphinha.

In midfield, Fernandinho comes in for Ilkay Gundogan to provide City with some protection against Leeds’ counterattacks alongside Rodri.

Only Bernardo Silva keeps his place in attack, with Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden all rested ahead of the trip to Germany, with Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres starting on the wings, whilst Sergio Aguero starts up front.
