ومن المقرر أن يلتقي بيراميدز أمام منافسه المصري يوم 19 نوفمبر الجاري بملعب برج العرب في إطار الجولة الرابعة من المسابقة المحلية.

Plenty of Sunderland fans have been blasting the comments made by Harry Kewell after Oldham Athletic lost 2-1 to Lee Johnson’s team in the Papa John’s Football League Trophy.

The Black Cats won the game thanks to goals from Chris Maguire and Josh Scowen after Bobby Grant had given Kewell’s side the lead early on in the first half.

The former Liverpool, Leeds United and Australian star was not happy with several aspects of the match, and voiced his anger in an interview with Oldham’s official website (via The Chronicle) after the clash:

“I’m actually surprised they get away with it.

“Look, we didn’t know there was a chop and a change of the team at the start – which is not right.”

Kewell was referring to the fact that the kick-off was delayed by 20 minutes as the SAFC team coach was held up in traffic, which meant that Lee Johnson and his players arrived at the stadium just 40 minutes before the kick-off time at 6pm.

The Australian also bemoaned the fact that he did not know that Sunderland made a late change to their starting line-up.

تحدث سيد عبد الحفيظ مدير الكرة بالنادي الأهلي، عن طرد حمدي فتحي في مباراة المقاولون العرب التي جمعت بينهما مساء اليوم، مشيرًا إلى أن شكل بطولة الدوري اختلف.

الأهلي نجح في الفوز على نظيره المقاولون العرب بهدف نظيف سجله لاعبه حمدي فتحي في الجولة الرابعة من بطولة الدوري المصري الممتاز.

وقال عبد الحفيظ في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “المحور”: “بيراميدز وفيوتشر يقدمان مستوى جيد، وأيضا فاركو والمحلة، والمقاولون اليوم، شكل الدوري اختلف تماما وأصبح هجوميا أكثر وبه أهداف كثيرة”.

وتابع: “الأمر لن يتوقف على فريق أو إثنين، وارد بعد 15 أو 16 أسبوع نقول إن المنافسة ستقتصر على فريقين، لكن من الآن الأمر صعب، لا نستهون بأي مباراة”.

وواصل: “نحترم كل الخصوم حتى وإن كان الشكل الظاهري أن المباراة سهلة، يجب أن نؤمن مركزنا بحصد النقاط من الآن”.

عن طرد حمدي فتحيـ قال: “لدينا ضربة جزاء نتيجة لمسة يد على لاعب المقاولون من تسديدة أفشة، والكرة ارتدت علينا بطرد حمدي فتحي، ولكن لو (مفيش ضربة جزاء فطرد حمدي فتحي صحيح)”.

Crystal Palace’s woes continued as they suffered a second consecutive defeat in the Premier League to ten-man Aston Villa at Villa Park on Boxing Day.

You could pick many holes in Roy Hodgson’s side, as Wilfried Zaha was far from his very best after he blazed a shot over the bar in the dying seconds of the game, but Jeffrey Schlupp badly let the Palace boss down with yet another lacklustre display against the Lions on Saturday afternoon.

The ex-Leicester City winger started the action out wide as Hodgson sought to stop the rot from seeping after the humiliating defeat to Liverpool at home last time out, yet was forced to make room for Andros Townsend in the 82nd minute as he struggled to get a foothold in the game.

SofaScore graded the 28-year-old as the worst player on the pitch with an abysmal 5.6 rating out of ten – he lost possession 18 times, won just seven duels from 22 attempts overall, was dribbled past twice and failed to complete a single dribble successfully from six attempts.

Schlupp also failed to register a single shot all game, let alone a shot on target, and failed to record even one key pass, as per SofaScore.

It’s fair to say that the Ghana international, who earns around £56,000-per-week at SE25, may have felt under threat after the arrival of Eze at Selhurst Park in the summer although he will have done very little to stake his claim in the starting line-up after such a dismal showing.

Quite why he wasn’t hauled off at half-time we’ll probably never understand, especially when you consider the fact Palace were essentially chasing the game against ten men.

Schlupp’s tenth start in the top flight so far this season could be his last for quite some time after such a poor performance – with a crucial clash with Leicester City on Monday, followed by a game against Premier League strugglers Sheffield United, Hodgson will surely have to consider other options on the right wing.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton are reportedly looking to offload long-term Glasgow Rangers target Muhamed Besic in January.

What’s the word?

Besic joined Sheffield United on loan from Everton in the summer of 2019, with Chris Wilder’s side having an option to buy.

But the Blades decided against signing him on a permanent basis and he returned to his parent club after his loan spell expired last year.

The Bosnia international was heavily linked with a loan move to Ibrox during the extended summer transfer window.

While a move never materialised, it looks like Rangers could potentially have another opportunity to make a move for the out-of-favour midfielder, who has been deemed surplus to requirements by Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.

Imagine Besic and Glen Kamara

Steven Gerrard’s Gers are well-stocked in the midfield after Ross Wilson brought in Bongani Zungu on an initial loan deal from French Ligue 2 side Amiens before the close of play on transfer deadline day.

However, there were no other additions to the midfield despite the departures of Greg Docherty, Jason Holt and Jordan Rossiter in the summer.

This means that Gerrard still has six options for three positions at least until the transfer market closes at the end of January, with Zungu, Steven Davis, Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack, Joe Aribo and Glen Kamara competing for three places behind the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten.

However, Arfield and Jack are currently out injured, and an injury or coronavirus crisis could quickly cause some unnecessary problems, so perhaps the Ibrox boss may feel inclined to dip into the market, and he ought to do so especially with Besic now available.

The £1.8m-rated 28-year-old, who typically plays as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a centre-back or right-back, previously scored three goals and supplied six assists in 56 appearances across all competitions for Middlesbrough, via Transfermarkt. Whilst he is fully capable of slotting into place alongside the likes of Arfield and Kamara, his versatility could prove to be an added bonus.

Roberto Martinez was effusive in his praise for his former charge back in 2014 as he was quoted as saying: “He is a character who is an out-and-out Everton player.

“He can become a big legend for Everton but he is a character who is still developing and working. Sometimes you forget he is only 22, but when you the bravery and wanting to do the right things it is impressive.

“I love those sort of characters – reliable. You can build strong teams around those characters.”

This strength of character would be most welcome in the Govan side of Glasgow and to be able to snap up a player with proven Premier League experience for a snip of a price is surely a no-brainer at this stage.

وأكمل: “هذا هو الدوري الإنجليزي، موسم طويل جدًا ويمكن أن يحدث خلاله العديد من الأشياء، بالنظر للفرق وجودة اللاعبين، قد يكون أحد المواسم الصعبة التي ستشهد إثارة حتى النهاية”.

وأشار: “أصعب ما في كرة القدم هو أن تكون متسقًا طوال الموسم، وهذا ما فعلناه عندما فزنا باللقب في الموسم قبل الماضي، لكن هناك العديد من المباريات المتبقية، ويمكن أن نكون في الموعد”.
