The departure of Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United this summer was to be expected after their failure to secure an immediate return back to the Premier League.

He had been linked with big-money moves to the likes of Newcastle United, Liverpool and Chelsea all summer, before moving to West Ham United in a £25m deal after the Hammers triggered a release clause in his contract.

The 22-year-old registered 28 goals and assists in his 43 Championship appearances – with boss Daniel Farke having a huge task on his hands to replace the goals they will have lost with his departure.

Georginio Rutter also looks set to be joining Summerville in leaving Elland Road this summer after Brighton triggered his £40m release clause, with Farke confirming he had already said his goodbyes on Thursday.

However, the Whites could repeat a deal for the Dutch talent before the end of the window in an attempt to replace the firepower lost during the transfer window.

Leeds could land £10m Dutch talent this summer

After the recent departure, the club have been working tirelessly to try and sign a suitable replacement, but so far, to no avail.

However, they could land a deal for Stoke City winger Million Manhoef after it was revealed by TEAMtalk that they had registered interest in the 22-year-old.

The Dutch attacker, who only joined the Championship side for £3.4m in January, could be on the move once again this window, but any move for the youngster could cost Farke’s side around the £10m mark.

Whilst it may seem a hefty sum for a player who has only featured in England for the last six months, he could prove to be an excellent addition, potentially following in Summerville’s footsteps in Yorkshire.

Why Manhoef could follow Summerville in being a hit at Leeds

After joining Leeds back in 2021, it took a year of settling for Summerville before he made his mark on the club’s first team – often featuring for the under-23 side.

His breakthrough campaign came in the 2022/23 campaign, where he made 28 Premier League appearances, scoring four and starting to look like a valuable player – scoring the winning goal against Liverpool at Anfield.

The levels he reached following his first full campaign are evident after his big-money move back to the Premier League, with Manhoef potentially able to follow in his footsteps should he move to Elland Road.

As previously mentioned, the second half of last season was his first taste of English football, with the youngster producing numerous stats very similar to the recently departed Leeds ace.

He matched his tally of four goals during his 14 appearances during 2023/24, whilst also averaging more shots and shots on target than compatriot Summerville.

Manhoef, who has the ability to “unlock defences” according to former Stoke star Glenn Whelan, may have completed slightly fewer dribbles but managed a higher cross-success rate than Summerville could muster during his full season of first-team action for the Whites.

Given their recent success with one Dutch winger, the club could be tempted into making a move for Manhoef before the closure of the window on August 30th.

He could develop rapidly under Farke’s guidance, potentially taking his game to the next level and allowing the fanbase to forget about the former Leeds talent, with the club repeating the trick they played with Summerville by signing the Potters star.

The Portugal international, who has returned to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth up to £46.3 million, completed his medical yesterday (Lyall Thomas) – putting pen to paper on a six-year contract with the option of a further year.

Chelsea were in negotiations to sign Felix since the beginning of last week, but a deal has now been agreed as the 24-year-old links up with Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.

The addition of Felix takes Chelsea's spending beyond the £200 million mark. However, Boehly and co have at least balanced the books with key player sales, which have in turn brought around £88 million into their coffers (Transfermarkt).

Reports suggest that Boehly, helped by his co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, may not be done there either. A lot of noise is currently surrounding Chelsea and a late move for star Serie A striker Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea have been holding talks with Napoli over Osimhen since late last month, and the Nigerian's possible switch to London is closely tied with Romelu Lukaku's future, as Antonio Conte pushes to reunite with the Belgian in Italy.

There won't be any straight swap deal, though, as both moves are seen as separate entities.

"Understand Romelu Lukaku and Napoli are getting closer. Official bid on the table," said reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano earlier this week.

"Club to club talks now into key stages as Chelsea decision is clear: Lukaku and Osimhen, SEPARATE topics. Full focus on selling Lukaku, then Osimhen story eventually for final days."

Real belief Chelsea could sign Osimhen as Napoli lower asking price

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, speaking to The Boot Room, there is a real belief Chelsea could sign Osimhen before deadline day, as Napoli lower the 25-year-old's asking price and Lukaku's move looks very likely to go through.

"The situation between the two clubs is slow but ongoing," said Bailey.

“Napoli have seemingly agreed to lower their asking price for him but so too have Chelsea for Lukaku. Expectation is that once the Lukaku deal is done – which should be soon – that does make the Osimhen deal much more likely.”

Two potential roadblocks that Chelsea will need to overcome are his salary and stance over joining on loan. According to Romano, Osimhen will not take a cut on his net £179,000-per-week wage, and only wants to leave Napoli on a permanent deal.

Pakistan wiped out Zimbabwe less than 30 minutes after tea on day three

Hasan Ali joined Shaheen Afridi in the 50 Test-wicket club as he wrapped up Zimbabwe’s lower order inside half an hour after tea on the third day for a dominant innings win for Pakistan. The last four wickets fell for just 10 runs, with Hasan taking all of them to complete a five-wicket haul and take his match tally to nine and earning Player-of-the-Match honours in the process. It’s the first time in nearly three years Pakistan won an away Test, with Babar Azam continuing his 100% win record as Test captain.Once a bit of resistance from the opening Zimbabwean pair was seen off, it was a familiar tale again. Pakistan tore through the top and middle order, removing half the side with the hosts still 132 runs away from erasing the first innings deficit at tea.Kevin Kasuza and Tarisai Musakanda’s resilience at the top suggested lessons might be learned from the failures of the first innings, but when Hasan nipped one back into Kasuza to strike the back pad, those impressions were soon dispelled. Milton Shumba was promoted ahead of Brendan Taylor, though his discomfort at batting up high appeared evident, and it was little surprise to see him nick off to left-arm bowler Nauman Ali.However, the real suggestion this was more a tribute act to the first innings than an actual second go came with the third dismissal. Musakanda had looked as assured as any of his compatriots all game, getting onto the front foot early against pace, and moving out of the way of the short ball with relative comfort. Alongside Taylor, who had come out looking proactive, even whacking the spinner for six off just his second delivery, Musakanda was forming a third-wicket partnership that represented Zimbabwe’s best hopes of making the visitors bat again.But when Taylor reverse swept Nauman to short third man, Musakanda pushed for a non-existent third, and ended up a couple of metres short when Mohammad Rizwan whipped off the bails. Musakanda had gone for a pretty 43 when Zimbabwe needed closer to a gritty three-figure contribution.Roy Kaia fell soon after, and while Taylor continued along in his adventurous ways, it was laden with risk. On the stroke of tea, he went after one ball too many, trying to hit Nauman through the line. It was mistimed, allowing Hasan to scamper back and take an excellent diving catch. With Prince Masvaure ruled out of the game due to a left hand injury sustained in the field, it brought Pakistan deep into Zimbabwe’s lower order.Unlike the first innings, though, there was little resistance from those at the bottom. Hasan sent Donald Tiripano’s stumps cartwheeling in his second over after tea, before removing Tendai Chisoro in the same over thanks to a superb diving catch from Imran Butt at second slip. Blessing Muzarabani’s stumps, too, went for a cartwheel at Hasan’s hands, and when he knocked back Richard Ngarava’s stumps with a yorker, the formalities were complete.Four wickets for Muzarabani helped wrap up the Pakistan innings in the first session, but not before 140 from Fawad Alam took the Pakistan lead to exactly 250. A cameo from Hasan to begin the day vanquished Zimbabwean hopes of wrapping up the innings without much further damage, and once he fell, Alam farmed the strike effectively to continue to take the game out of Zimbabwe’s reach.Zimbabwe looked purposeful to begin the third day, perhaps because they could see the light at the end of the tunnel, with Pakistan’s lower order in their sights. But with Alam’s obstinate resistance combined with Hasan’s penchant for quick scoring, every boundary – and there were a few – frustrated, as the spectre of an innings defeat moved ever closer. So when Muzarabani went wide of the crease to target the off-stump line and coaxed an edge from Hasan, there were boisterous celebrations.Muzarabani was on fire all morning; it was notable even as Alam tried to up the ante. The 24-year old gave him nothing to hit. He followed up the Hasan dismissal with a first-ball removal of Nauman, though he did have a splendid second slip catch from Musakanda to thank for that. The hat-trick wasn’t to be, but he did ensure Alam wouldn’t go unbeaten, taking his inside edge as he tried to heave one away to midwicket.Zimbabwe might have felt they had done respectably well to keep the lead from ballooning ever further, but with little resistance from the batters, that effectively ensured a tame defeat would come inside three days.
